Emily and Jack’s engagement session took place during one of the busiest, most electric weeks in New York City — and somehow, in the middle of all that energy, it still felt like we had our own quiet little pocket of the city. We met up on a winter afternoon and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, bundled up and laughing through the cold.

One of the most meaningful parts of the session was stopping to overlook the office building where they first met years ago. Being able to photograph them with that piece of their history in the background added such a personal layer to the shoot. It felt like we were documenting not just where they are now, but where their story actually started.

I’ve always loved traveling for work, and sessions like this are a huge reason why. Getting to explore a city like New York while photographing such an important chapter for a couple is something I never take for granted. Emily and Jack were so easy to work with and their session made me even more excited to get back to New York and document more couples there soon!
