I’ve known Patrick since college, so documenting his proposal to Bella felt a little different from the start. It wasn’t just about getting good photos, it was about being there for a big moment in someone’s life that I’ve watched unfold over years!

We planned it at Tourmaline Beach in San Diego, a spot that’s simple but really beautiful in that understated way. Nothing over the top – just the ocean, soft light, and enough space to let the moment happen naturally.

Patrick had a tight window before heading out to play football for the New York Giants, which added a bit of urgency to everything. But once we were out there, it slowed down. The nerves, the anticipation—it all kind of settled into the background.

When he finally proposed, it was quick and genuine. No big production, just the two of them in their own world for a minute. Afterward, we stayed for a while, taking photos as the light started to drop, taking it all in. It was one of those afternoons that didn’t need much.
